1. October Article: Garlic Health: Is Garlic a Villain or Benefactor?
Many of my patients and audience members at lectures have asked me the above-titled question using different verbiages on different occasions. Why ask about garlic, the food we love to spice our meals with so often, despite the attendant aroma?
When we take into account all the environmental, nutritional, social, genetic, and cultural factors discussed below, we begin to comprehend "the big picture".

- In addition to offering monthly uncooking classes, we have begun one-on-one raw food instruction. Participants are taught by an Ecopolitan chef the essential skills, methods and recipes for getting started in raw-food preparation. Call or speak to our staff for registration.
- June 2005 Raw Beauty Eco-Spa and The Minneapolis Eco-Hostel both enjoyed well-attended and successful openings in the Ecopolitan building. The pampering and skin therapy at the chemically-free Eco-Spa has received rave reviews, as well as the nail and hair care. The EcoHostel has been attracting numerous appreciative guests from around the world, looking for a
welcoming place to stay that is eco-friendly, non-toxic, and low-budget. - June 2005 Ecopolitan's dehydration space has been expanded to meet increasing demand for our "addictive" dehydrated goods!
- The new Monthly Potluck and Support Group, Minneapolis Living Foods,has began this summer, on the last Sunday of every month at 5:30 PM!
- Weekday Lunch Discount: We are now offering a new "Lunch Combo" of a meal and a smoothie for $9.25 for patrons who visit weekdays 11am-3pm. Meal options include a slice of Savory Pie, Lasagne or any Pizza, a Custom Salad, Bowl of Soup or Appetizer paired any Smoothie or Coconut Drink. This makesfor up to a discount of $3.75!

3. Free Information Meetings (Every Tuesday 6-8+ PM, Upstairs).
Join us for free lectures, discussions, or socializing. The presentations begin sharply at 6:30 PM- please come at 6 PM to meet others, wind down, and have a drink (organic NSA wine, smoothie, or fresh juice...) or a snack (optional). If you wish, you can order from the restaurant before the meeting and we will bring your orderupstairs to you. Or, you can just sit and relax, since no purchase is necessary.

7. Paul Nisson, Internationally Acclaimed Author, Educator and Raw Food Chef to Speak at Ecopolitan

8. Breast Thermography, Also Known As Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI)
Available at the Ecopolitan Building Thursday, October 22nd, 9am-6pm
DITI is a radiation free, contact free, non invasive (symptom-free),
state of the art clinical screening test recommended for women of all
ages. This test is part of an early breast disease detection program
that provides women an opportunity to greatly increase their chances of
addressing early stages of cancer and other breast disease. Unlike
conventional mammography, DITI is completely safe for pregnant women,
women with breast implants, and dense or sensitive breasts, since there
is no contact with or compression of the breast. DITI has been
recognized as a viable diagnostic tool since 1987 by the AMA Council on
Scientific affairs and the ACA Council on Diagnostic Imaging, since
1988 by the Congress of Neuro-Surgeons, and since 1990 by the American
Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
The screening at Ecopolitan (the ONLY MODERN DITI currently available
in the Twin Cities that is interpreted by a Board-Certified
Radiologist) includes a full thermographic imaging examination and
color images, interpretation of the non-breast tissue findings by a
Certified Thermographer, and medical
interpretation by a board-certified medical radiologist.

12. About This Newsletter
This Newsletter has been authored by Doctor T (with some assistance of others), who apologizes profusely for any grammatical or spelling errors that may have occurred, and promises to correct any error promptly upon being notified...Adiel (“Doctor T”) Tel-Oren, MD (Europe), DC, LN, DACBN, DABOM, CCN, FABDA, DABCT(c), the founder and President of Ecopolitan and its Eco-Health Network, specializes in disease prevention, non-invasive clinical medicine, nutritional and environmental medicine, and functional medicine (science-based holistic approaches to diagnosis and therapy).
